NAMI MetroWest Education and Support Programs that your WALK contributions funded over the last few years:
• Provided Employment Options with financial support for their Catering Options
and Cleaning Options client-run businesses.
•Piloted the first in Massachusetts NAMI Peer-to-Peer education program. NAMI
Peer-To-Peer is a 10 week recovery-focused educational program for adults who
wish to maintain wellness in response to mental health challenges. We trained 18
•Sponsored our family caregiver education program, NAMI Family-to-Family
(family education for caregivers of adults),
•Sponsored our bi-monthly recover support group NAMI Connections. •Made direct contributions to families dealing with mental illness and in a financial
crisis and the Brain & Behavior Research Foundation.
•And of course all our programs are open to the general public and free of charge.
NAMI Advocacy in Massachusetts
•Restore Funding to the Department of Mental Health. •Encourage Jail Diversion for people with mental illness •Increase the Mass Health Reimbursement Rate for Private Inpatient Psychiatric Care •Fund mental health police training through an automobile insurance surcharge.
• Require Health Care Coverage for Emergency Psychiatric Services by private insurance
Thank you for another successful Walk! NAMI Massachusetts remains the largest NAMI Walk in the country! At this writing (July 4, 2017) NAMI Mass has raised over $630,000. The NAMI MetroWest affiliate has raised $19,000 in Walk contributions.
